President Poudel Hosts Banquet for Qatar’s Emir, Cultural Performances Highlight the Evening

President Ram Chandra Poudel hosted a grand banquet this evening in honor of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is on a two-day state visit to Nepal. The banquet, attended by a roster of high-profile guests, was a vibrant showcase of Nepalese cultural heritage.

First Lady Sabita Poudel, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, along with the Speaker, the Chairman of the National Assembly, the Chief Justice, and a host of former Prime Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, MPs, industrialists, and dignitaries from various fields graced the occasion.

The evening was filled with traditional music and dance performances, illustrating the rich cultural tapestry of Nepal. The performances were specially arranged to provide a glimpse of local art and culture to the distinguished guests, fostering a deeper cultural connection between the two nations.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, welcomed by President Poudel and a guard of honor provided by a contingent of the Nepal Army. His visit follows a friendly invitation extended by President Poudel, aiming to strengthen the bilateral ties between Nepal and Qatar.

The Emir’s schedule included a high-level meeting with President Poudel shortly after his arrival at Sheetal Niwas. The discussions were part of a broader agenda to enhance cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.

Further diplomatic talks are set to continue on Wednesday with a scheduled bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Prachanda.

The visit of Sheikh Tamim is seen as a significant step in bolstering the diplomatic and economic relationships between Nepal and Qatar, highlighting the ongoing commitment of both nations to explore new avenues of partnership and cooperation.
