President Wishes Success to Nepali Cricketers Participating in Asia Cup

President Ramchandra Paudel has extended his heartfelt best wishes to the national cricket team of Nepal as they prepare to embark on their journey to Pakistan for the upcoming Asia Cup, a prominent T20 international cricket tournament.

During a cordial meeting held today at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, President Paudel conveyed his sincere hopes for the team’s triumph in the men’s One Day International, scheduled to take place from August 30 to September 17.

Emphasizing the significance of tournaments like the Asia Cup as opportunities for players to cultivate their personalities and contribute to Nepal’s international image and identity, President Paudel expressed his optimism for the team’s commendable performance.

He acknowledged the burgeoning interest in cricket and the team’s recent achievements, asserting that these developments had stirred excitement among the people of Nepal. President Paudel also underscored the need for the government to prioritize the enhancement of cricket infrastructure and the creation of more avenues within sports, particularly cricket, to elevate the sector’s productivity.

President Paudel remarked, “The Nepali team’s chance to compete against globally acclaimed squads such as India and Pakistan is a source of great exhilaration. May your diligence and dedication translate into exceptional performances and desired outcomes.”

The Asia Cup, adopting a hybrid model, is set to be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature six teams divided into two groups and played in a fifty-over format. Nepal finds itself in Group A, alongside Pakistan and India, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. Nepal’s opening match in Multan will be against Pakistan.

As the cricketing spirit soars high, Nepal’s cricket enthusiasts and the nation at large anticipate an impressive showing by their team in this prestigious tournament.
