Prime Minister Prachanda Holds Talks with Sri Lankan President

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ held a crucial meeting with the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Kampala, Uganda.

During the meeting, both leaders delved into a range of bilateral interests, addressing key issues such as connectivity, tourism, and regional cooperation. The discussions aimed at strengthening ties and fostering mutual understanding between Nepal and Sri Lanka.

In his address to the NAM Summit on Friday, Prime Minister Dahal underscored the pivotal role that NAM plays in ensuring sustainability and global prosperity. He expressed a firm commitment to the enduring values, significance, and principles upheld by NAM, considering them sacred for Nepal.

Highlighting the potent role of NAM in fostering cooperation, Prime Minister Dahal envisioned it as a robust force for achieving worldwide prosperity through collaborative efforts. He urged nations to unite, creating an environment where the benefits of collective endeavors reach every country equally.

Emphasizing the need for NAM to serve as an instrument for global advancement, Prime Minister Dahal called for a shared progress environment. He expressed his commitment to engaging in political dialogues and diplomatic means to seek lasting solutions for peace and security in a world marked by the consequences of new and old dualities.

Prime Minister Dahal concluded his address by highlighting the urgency of promoting peace and security through political dialogue and diplomatic channels for global respect and dignity.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on January 21, marking the end of his diplomatic mission at the NAM Summit.
