Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral Appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University

Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral has been named the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Tribhuvan University. The decision was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s secretariat, with Chancellor of the University and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal officially appointing Baral to the esteemed position.

The selection process was conducted meticulously, with the Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee, led by Education, Science, and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai, considering several candidates. Among the contenders, Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki and Tanka Nath Dhamala were also proposed alongside Baral.

Out of the 43 applicants vying for the role, 14 were shortlisted for presentations and interviews. Following rigorous evaluations based on educational qualifications, training, research contributions, interviews, and presentations, three individuals, including Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral, emerged as the recommended candidates for the appointment.
