Rauniyar, a Figure Shrouded in Controversy, Joins UML

Janata Samajwadi Party central member and former House of Representatives’ member, Hari Narayan Rauniyar, recently joined CPN-UML.

During a program held in Pokhariya, Parsa on Tuesday, UML Chairman KP Oli officially welcomed Rauniyar into the party.

In the 2017 elections, Rauniyar secured the position of Federal Member of Parliament from Parsa-3 under the then Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum (now JSP). Having joined UML, Rauniyar is also a contentious contractor and the former chairman of Pappu Construction.

Controversy surrounded Rauniyar due to his involvement in certain development contracts that remained incomplete. Subsequently, his MP membership was suspended following the Pappu Construction case.

Upon joining UML, Rauniyar criticized Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav, alleging that Yadav had forsaken the Madhesh issue for personal interests, prompting him to leave JSP. Rauniyar expressed his belief that the development and prosperity of the country are achievable through UML and its Chairman Oli.

He further accused JSP of merely driving away Madhesh and accused Yadav of repeatedly changing the party’s name in the name of Madhesh without accomplishing any meaningful work for the Madhesi people.
