Ruling Maoist Center Convenes Crucial Meeting

The ruling Maoist Center has called for a high-stakes meeting of its office bearers scheduled to take place at the party headquarters in Parisdanda on December 19.

The Office Chief Secretary, Shree Ram Dhakal, has outlined the key agenda items for the meeting, which include discussions on the government’s review, progress in the ongoing party transformation campaign, and preparations for the upcoming National Assembly elections. The meeting is expected to address critical matters affecting the party’s trajectory.

Dhakal stated, “Following a thorough examination of the party’s campaign, we are convening a legislative conference to address critical matters and chart the way forward for our political objectives.”

A notable focus of the meeting will be the formation of a unity coordination committee, aimed at strengthening ties with the Nepal Samajwadi Party led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai. This move suggests a strategic effort by the Maoist Center to forge alliances and consolidate political strength.

In a surprising turn of events, party leader Haribol Gajurel, who recently resigned from his position as Prime Minister Dahal’s political advisor, is expected to present his views during the meeting. While Gajurel cited political issues as the reason for his resignation, specific details regarding his decision have yet to be disclosed.
