Sandeep Lamichhane’s Case: Court Demands Pleading Notes

In a recent development, the Kathmandu District Court has taken action in the rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane. The court, presided over by Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire, has instructed both parties to submit their pleading notes within the next month, as confirmed by Lamichhane’s lawyer, Murari Sapkota.

The next court hearing is scheduled for December 10, marking a significant step forward in the case. Notably, the court had faced delays in recent months, primarily due to a shortage of judges and other factors.

Previously, on September 7, Judge Shakuntala Karki had requested documents pertaining to the victim’s date of birth from the municipality where her family had originally migrated from. The court had earlier sought similar documents from the local authority where the victim’s family currently resides.

Sandeep Lamichhane is currently out on bail, and this case continues to attract significant attention.
