Senator Kakar Appointed Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan

In a significant development, President Arif Alvi of Pakistan has given his approval for the appointment of Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar as the acting Prime Minister. The decision comes in accordance with Article 224 (1A) of the Constitution of Pakistan, granting Senator Kakar the responsibility of leading the country in the absence of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The announcement follows a meticulous process, wherein Prime Minister Sharif engaged in extensive consultations with Raja Riaz, the leader of the opposition party in the National Assembly. Subsequently, a formal summary was presented to President Alvi for his endorsement, as confirmed by an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Senator Kakar, a seasoned politician, has been a prominent figure in Pakistan’s political landscape since his election to the Senate in March 2018. He secured his seat as an independent candidate, representing the parliamentary constituency of Southwestern Baluchistan province. With a history of active engagement and dedicated service to his constituents, Senator Kakar’s appointment as the acting Prime Minister is anticipated to bring stability and focused leadership during this interim period.

This transition of power is expected to be smooth, given Senator Kakar’s experience and commitment to public service. As he assumes his new role, all eyes are on the acting Prime Minister to steer the nation through this phase and uphold the democratic principles that Pakistan holds dear.

The nation now awaits Senator Kakar’s first actions and statements as acting Prime Minister, which are likely to shape the direction of the government’s policies and initiatives in the coming days.
