Shree Airlines Expands Fleet with Two New 80-Seater Aircraft

Shree Airlines, a prominent private sector airline company, has recently acquired two new 80-seater aircraft manufactured by De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (DHC). The aircraft, named ‘Dash 8′, landed in Kathmandu today with call signs 9N-AOK and 9N-AOL, as confirmed by Anil Manandhar, the institutional manager of Shree Airlines.

These newly acquired aircraft, formerly operated by Horizon Air and Alaska Air in the United States, are set to undergo the necessary processes mandated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) before commencing commercial flights. Once cleared, they will be integrated into Shree Airlines’ operations.

With this addition, Shree Airlines’ fleet now comprises 10 aircraft, along with eight helicopters. The airline, which initiated regular flights to various destinations in Nepal back in 2017, initially operated with two 50-seater CRJ 200 aircraft and two 70-seater RJ 700 jet planes. Over the years, the company has steadily expanded its fleet and flight destinations, with previous acquisitions of two additional 80-seater aircraft in 2019 and 2022.

The expansion of Shree Airlines’ fleet underscores its commitment to enhancing connectivity and service quality in Nepal’s aviation sector, catering to the growing demand for air travel within the country.
