Temporary Power Cuts in Kathmandu Starting Tomorrow for Substation Maintenance

Several areas in Kathmandu will experience temporary power outages starting tomorrow, as maintenance work is set to be conducted on the electricity line between the Syuchatar and Matatirtha substations. The work, crucial for upgrades, is expected to last nearly a week.

The Nepal Electricity Authority has announced that the power disruptions will affect various parts of the city according to a scheduled timeline. The affected areas and schedule are as follows:

From May 11 to May 13, between 8 am and 2 pm daily, residents in Husantar, Khadka Gaon, and Thankot Feeder will face power cuts.

The outage will extend from May 15 to May 17 in several other areas including Patichowk, Amarjyoti, Purano Health Post, and Krishna Mandir. Additional areas such as Nag Mandir, Gautam Gaon, Asantar, and Kankali among others will also experience disruptions during these dates.

Furthermore, neighborhoods such as Purano Naikap, Balambu, Chundevi, and Khahare along with Dahachowk, Dhungedhara, and Bright Future will face power cuts from May 15 to May 17.

Residents are advised to plan accordingly and ensure necessary arrangements are made to mitigate the impact of the power outages during the specified times. The Nepal Electricity Authority appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation as they work to improve the city’s electrical infrastructure.
