Towards Socialism: PM Dahal Seeks Political Consensus

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called on all political parties to work together to forge a path toward socialism, in alignment with the spirit of the Constitution.

Speaking at an event organized to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the Communist Party of Nepal in Godavari, Lalitpur, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity for political cooperation to propel the country’s development and to effectively serve the citizens.

“Our political achievements so far have been made possible through mutual understanding and unity. However, a decline in such understanding has weakened us,” he remarked, expressing his hope that the celebration would motivate all political parties to initiate a new era of understanding and consensus.

He highlighted that communist parties from various factions, the Nepali Congress, and other political groups have significantly contributed to the establishment of a federal democratic republic system. The Chair of the major ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) noted that maintaining a high level of political cooperation and understanding is crucial to institutionalizing these accomplishments.

The Prime Minister raised concerns that there are ongoing efforts to undermine the federal republic, which is based on the principles of proportional representation and inclusion. He urged all political parties to engage in collaborative efforts to strengthen democracy and move toward social justice and prosperity.

He called on political parties to acknowledge each other’s existence and contributions and to commit to serving the nation and its people. He also encouraged political parties to introspect and rectify their own weaknesses.

“Let us review our positive actions and reflect on our shortcomings. Let us resolve to foster advanced thinking and serve the nation with unwavering dedication,” he said.
