Tragedy in Dang Sparks Unrest as Locals Demand Justice for Two Lives Lost in Tipper Accident

Two lives were tragically lost in Dang on Sunday after a tipper struck the victims, igniting widespread unrest and protests in the area. The incident prompted locals to block roads and organize demonstrations to demand justice for the fatalities.

In the aftermath of the accident, tensions escalated as several relatives of the deceased were detained by the police for their involvement in road blockades and protest activities.

The grieving families of the victims have initiated a strike in Dang, declaring that they will not claim the bodies until adequate compensation is provided and decisive actions are taken against the tipper driver.

Adding to the turmoil, the police arrested Pramod Pokhrel, the vice chairman of Jhimruk Rural Municipality in Pyuthan, along with Man Bahadur KC, ward chairman of Naubahini Rural Municipality-6, and Rajesh JC, the brother and uncle of the deceased youths. The arrests occurred during an attempt to block the road on Sunday morning.

Efforts to negotiate between the tipper operator and the victims persisted throughout Saturday, but the discussions failed to yield a resolution. In response to the impasse, the aggrieved party issued a warning of blocking the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section, intensifying the already tense situation in the region. Authorities are closely monitoring the developments as the community awaits a just resolution to the tragic incident.
