U.S. Ambassador Congratulates PM Oli

U.S. Ambassador Dean Richard Thompson took to social media today to congratulate KP Sharma Oli, the newly-appointed Prime Minister of Nepal. President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Oli today.

Thompson’s tweet read, “Congratulations to @kpsharmaoli on his appointment as Prime Minister of Nepal. We look forward to working with the new Government of Nepal to further strengthen our 77-year partnership.”

President Paudel had on July 14 app U.S. Ambassador Congratulates PM KP Sharma Oli on New Appointmentointed CPN (UML) Chair Oli to the post of Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. Oli has the support of the Nepali Congress, the largest party, and the UML, the second largest party, in the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Federal Parliament.
