‘UML’s Goal Beyond Political Dominance, Focused on National Prosperity’

Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli, expressed immense support and enthusiasm from citizens during the ongoing Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjang campaign. Speaking at a program in Manthali, Ramechhap on Monday night, Chairman Oli highlighted the citizens’ unwavering enthusiasm, citing it as a strong indicator of the collective determination to uplift the nation within the framework of the UML.

“I perceive this energy as a determination to build our nation, and I interpret it as genuine enthusiasm,” stated Chairman Oli, underscoring the significance of public support in the current challenging conditions facing the country. He emphasized the need for positive change and recognized the crucial role citizens play in facilitating this transformative process.

Expressing gratitude to UML cadres for their commitment to safeguarding the party amid challenges, Oli thanked leaders for steering CPN-UML to become the most popular political entity in the country. He addressed attempts by certain factions to undermine the party, characterizing them as “jackals attempting to dismantle the party” and highlighting past attempts to oust UML members.

Chairman Oli clarified that the UML’s objective extends beyond mere political dominance or holding government positions. He drew attention to the economic ramifications of the party’s removal from government, citing a sharp decline in the country’s economic growth rate. Oli expressed concerns over the current government’s budget, foreseeing its potential contribution to a further economic downturn and increased youth migration.

Questioning the ruling alliance’s commitment to nationalism, Oli criticized the government’s reliance on loans to pay salaries and accused it of gold smuggling from the airport. Using a vivid analogy, he likened the current state of the country to a vehicle going downhill without starting, raising doubts about the government’s ability to protect and promote national interests.
