Unified Socialist Party to Discuss Convention Preparations on May 8

The Unified Socialist Party is set to convene a crucial Standing Committee meeting on May 8 to discuss a range of issues including the upcoming national convention, the state of party organization, and the activities of affiliated people’s organizations.

Mohan Gautam, a central member of the party, emphasized that a significant agenda item will be the selection of representatives for the convention. The committee aims to ensure equitable representation from all provinces, regions, and geographical areas.

The meeting will also focus on the coordination among various committees responsible for managing the convention. This includes overseeing the renewal of memberships and the acceptance of new party members. All decisions from the Standing Committee will subsequently be presented to the central committee for final approval.

In preparation for the national convention, slated for June 30 to July 4 in Kathmandu, the party has already instructed all its committees, departments, and branches to finalize their membership lists and submit them, along with the necessary fees, to the central office by April 27.

The outcomes of this meeting are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the party’s strategies and activities leading up to the convention.
