Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi Appointed Next Chief of the Naval Staff

The Government of India has announced the appointment of Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi as the next Chief of the Naval Staff, effective from the afternoon of April 30, 2024. Vice Admiral Tripathi, who currently holds the position of Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, will succeed Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, who is set to retire on the same day.

Vice Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, born on May 15, 1964, was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on July 01, 1985. With a specialization in Communication and Electronic Warfare, Vice Admiral Tripathi boasts a distinguished career spanning nearly 39 years.

Before assuming the role of Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Tripathi held the prestigious position of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. His extensive experience and expertise make him well-suited to lead the Indian Navy as its Chief of the Naval Staff.
