Victims of Bara Bus Accident Identified as Investigations Continue

The tragic bus accident that occurred near the Churiyamai temple in Jitpur Simara sub-metropolis-22, Bara, during the early hours of today has left a somber trail of seven identified victims in its wake.

The ill-fated bus, primarily carrying pilgrims, most of whom hailed from India, has sent shockwaves through the region. The District Police Office in Makwanpur has successfully identified all seven individuals who lost their lives in this heart-wrenching incident.

The deceased have been named as Bijay Lal Pundit, 41, from Loharpatti, Mahottari; Bahadur Singh, 67; Mira Devi Singh, 65; Satyawati Singh, 60; Rajendra Chaturvedi, 70; Shreekant Chaturvedi, 65; and Baijanti Devi, 67, all from Rajasthan, India. The victims were on a pilgrimage, seeking spiritual solace near the Churiyamai temple.

With a total of 26 passengers on board, the bus with license plate Madhesh Province 3001 Kha 7994 was en route from Kathmandu to Janakpur when the unfortunate accident occurred at 2:00 am today. The passengers endured a terrifying ordeal as the bus met with a tragic fate.

In the aftermath of the accident, 17 individuals sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at various medical facilities. The injured are being cared for at Hetauda Hospital, Hetauda-based Sancho Hospital, Churehil Hospital, and the Old Medical College in Bharatpur, Chitwan. Superintendent of Police Sitaram Rijal from the District Police Office in Makwanpur shared these details, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to provide the best possible medical care to the survivors.

As the investigation into the accident progresses, authorities are working to gather all pertinent information to shed light on the circumstances that led to this devastating incident. The community mourns the loss of life and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured.
