5 Arrested in Kathmandu for Facebook Hacking and Fraud: 4 from Bara, 1 from Kaski

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has apprehended a gang of hackers involved in a Facebook hacking and fraud operation.

The police team, led by dedicated investigators, worked tirelessly to track down and detain the individuals responsible for the hacking and subsequent fraudulent activities on the social media platform. The five arrested suspects have been identified as Simant Lama, Amanta Lama, Anup Shrestha, Rohan Gurung of Bara, and Shubeksha Gurung, known by the alias ‘Subbu,’ from Kaski.

The arrests took place in the Kathmandu, as the suspects were located renting rooms in the Resunga Butwal Guest House within the bus park area.

The police have conveyed that the arrested individuals are now in custody and have been transferred to the District Police Complex Teku for further investigation. Legal proceedings will be carried out in accordance with the Fraud and Electronic Transactions Act 2063, reflecting the seriousness of the charges they are facing.
