Four Foreigners Arrested in Kathmandu with 3.5 kg Gold Smuggled Internally

Nepal Police have arrested four foreign nationals — three women and one man — for allegedly smuggling 3.5 kg and 775 grams of gold concealed inside their bodies at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
The suspects, identified as Uzbekistani citizens, arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening aboard Fly Dubai flight FZ 575 from Dubai. They were apprehended by plainclothes officers of the Nepal Police after clearing immigration and customs, said SSP Somendra Singh Rathore, chief of TIA Security Office.
According to the police, the gold was hidden in their rectum in an attempt to evade detection during security checks. The arrested individuals have been placed in Gaushala Police custody for further investigation.
Authorities are continuing their probe into the case, as gold smuggling through Kathmandu airport remains a persistent challenge for law enforcement.
