Thailand to Boost Investment in Nepal’s Aviation and Tourism Sectors: PM Shinawatra

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has expressed Thailand’s commitment to increasing investment and participation in Nepal’s aviation and tourism sectors.

Speaking at a joint press conference following her meeting with Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on an official visit to Thailand, PM Shinawatra highlighted Thailand’s willingness to expand flight connectivity. She noted that Thailand is positive about increasing the frequency of Thai Airlines flights to Kathmandu and introducing direct flights to Lumbini.

She further emphasized Thailand’s interest in prioritizing investments in Nepal’s energy, hospitality, and aviation sectors, expressing confidence that trade and economic cooperation between the two nations would strengthen in the coming days.

Describing PM Oli’s visit as historic—the first by a Nepali Prime Minister in 65 years of diplomatic relations—PM Shinawatra said the discussions also focused on enhancing connectivity and trade partnerships between Nepal and Thailand.
