ACC U-19 Asia Cup: Nepal to Compete Against India and Pakistan

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially unveiled the fixtures for the upcoming ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2023. This exciting cricket tournament is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates from December 8 to December 17.

In a thrilling opening match, Nepal is set to face off against Pakistan at the ICC Academy Ground-2 on December 8, marking a momentous start to the competition.

The fixtures also reveal that Nepal’s young cricket talents will compete against Afghanistan on December 10 and India on December 12 in the group-stage matches.

The participating teams have been divided into two groups, creating an atmosphere of fierce competition. Group ‘A’ consists of Nepal, Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan, while Group ‘B’ comprises the host nation, UAE, along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Japan.

Nepal’s under-19 cricket team has been making significant strides in the sport, and their victory in the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup by defeating the UAE by 19 runs in a rain-affected final at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 24 is a testament to their potential.

Nepal’s journey to the ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup 2023 was secured with an impressive victory over Japan, as they defeated them by 144 runs in the semifinals of the Premier Cup, which took place in Malaysia on October 21.

Notably, Nepal’s under-19 cricket team has also earned a spot in the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024. They achieved this milestone by defeating the United Arab Emirates by seven runs during the Asian Regional Qualifier in Ajman on March 2.
