Bhutanese Refugee Case

‘Accusations Leveled Against Me are Completely Fabricated and False’

Former Home Minister and Congress central member Balkrishna Khand, who stands accused of fraud, forgery, organized crime, and crimes against the state, has presented a denial statement in court. Khand’s statement, given in the Kathmandu District Court before Judge Prem Prasad Neupane, asserts his innocence in the alleged scheme involving the trafficking of Nepali citizens as counterfeit Bhutanese refugees to the United States.

Maintaining his innocence, Khand proclaimed that a plot had been orchestrated by the state authorities to ruin both his personal and political life. He firmly stated, “All the accusations and claims leveled against me are completely fabricated and false.” According to him, this conspiracy was contrived with the intention of destroying his reputation and career in public service.

Furthermore, Khand expressed unfamiliarity with the supposed victims and whistleblowers involved in the case of the fake Bhutanese refugees.
