Amitabh Bachchan Purchases Land In Ayodhya For Rs 14.5 Crore: Report

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly acquired a sprawling plot in the exclusive seven-star enclave, ‘The Sarayu,’ situated in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The holy town, synonymous with the impending grand opening of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, is witnessing heightened interest from investors and celebrities.

Mumbai-based developer, The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), spearheading the project, has not disclosed the specific size but industry insiders estimate the plot to be approximately 10,000 sqft with a reported value of ₹14.5 crore, according to sources cited by Hindustan Times.

The Sarayu, an expansive 51-acre development, is scheduled to be formally inaugurated on January 22, coinciding with the grand consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Boasting proximity to the temple, just a 15-minute drive away, and situated half an hour from the airport, The Sarayu is set to become a hallmark of luxury and spirituality.

Amitabh Bachchan expressed his enthusiasm for the project at an event, saying, “I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart. The timeless spirituality and cultural richness of Ayodhya have forged an emotional connection that transcends geographical boundaries.”

The Sarayu project is expected to be completed by March 2028 and will feature a five-star palace hotel, blending traditional charm with modern amenities.

Amitabh Bachchan, reflecting on his association with Ayodhya, stated, “This is a start of a heartfelt journey into the soul of Ayodhya, where tradition and modernity seamlessly co-exist, creating an emotional tapestry that resonates with me deeply. Notably, Ayodhya holds a sentimental value for Amitabh Bachchan, as his birthplace, Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), is a mere four-hour drive away.
