Bilateral Dialogues Flourish as Minister Saud Meets Foreign Counterparts

Foreign Minister NP Saud arrived in New Delhi on the 21st of February to participate in the ninth edition of the Multilateral Forum ‘Raisina Dialogue.’ Anurag Srivastava, Head of Nepal Desk at the Ministry of External Affairs, India, extended a warm welcome to the minister upon his arrival at the airport.

During his visit, Minister Saud has a packed schedule, including pivotal meetings with high-level dignitaries from the Government of India and representatives from other participating countries. Upon his arrival in India, Ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr. Shankar P Sharma, welcomed Saud at the Nepal Embassy, India.

On the same day, Foreign Minister Saud held a bilateral meeting with Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, in New Delhi, where they discussed areas to strengthen relations between both countries and reviewed the geopolitical situation.

On February 22nd, Minister Saud met Elina Valtonen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, during the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, exchanging views on strengthening bilateral relationships.

 

Minister Saud also attended the Raisina Dialogue opening ceremony in New Delhi, where PM of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, gave the inaugural speech, and PM of India Narendra Modi was the chief guest. Dignitaries from across the world attended the event.

 

Moreover, during the Raisina Dialogue, Foreign Minister NP Saud met Richard R Verma, Deputy Secretary of State, exchanging views on various aspects of the bilateral relationship.

 

On the same day, Minister Saud held a bilateral meeting with Krišjānis Kariņš, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, in New Delhi, discussing further promotion of bilateral relations between Nepal and Latvia, as well as cooperation in multilateral forums.

 

Additionally, Foreign Minister Saud held a bilateral meeting with D. N. Dhungyel, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Bhutan, exchanging views on further promoting bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade and tourism.

 

Foreign Minister NP Saud also received Tatjana Jovic, the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Serbia, in New Delhi, where they reviewed bilateral relations, especially in trade, investment, and tourism, and discussed ways to promote them further.

 

Moreover, Foreign Minister Saud met with India’s Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi, and DG, BIMSTEC, Indra Mani Pandey, on the sidelines of Raisina Dialogue 2024. The discussions centered around cultural connections between Southeast Asia and South Asia and promoting them in the future.

 

The Raisina Dialogue, a multilateral forum, is organized by the Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

This event serves as a platform for in-depth discussions and exchanges on global issues, aimed at fostering diplomatic ties and international cooperation.
