The meeting, which began on Wednesday at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, saw participation from eighteen party leaders who expressed their views on various crucial matters.

The main focus of the meeting was on restructuring the party, enhancing its efficiency, and evaluating the government’s performance. Chair Dahal proposed making the organisational structures smoother and more manageable. The key elements of his proposal included sending party members to the ward-level, conducting a three-month special campaign, organizing a statute convention, and ensuring the party operates smoothly and efficiently through the convention.

During the initial part of the meeting, Chair Dahal emphasized the importance of the gathering, addressing the necessity of discussing both political and organizational reports. He highlighted the positive impact of the government’s initiatives and activities under his leadership, which has instilled new hope among the people.

“The programmes initiated by the party and the actions taken by the government since its formation have ignited new hope among the people,” Chair Dahal shared during the meeting.

Furthermore, the CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair stressed the need to strengthen national unity and sovereignty, calling for a discussion within the central committee to achieve this objective.

In a unanimous decision, the statute amendment proposal presented by Chair Dahal was passed. Among the significant decisions made during the meeting, it was decided that the Maoist Centre would increase its inclusivity by ensuring that at least 25 percent of the central committee comprises women. As a result, the central committee will now consist of 409 members.

The ongoing central committee meeting will continue today at 11:00 am, and it is expected to bring more vital discussions and decisions to further shape the party’s future trajectory.
