CIAA Files Corruption Case Against Engineer Pradeep Bhattarai and Sumitra Sapkota

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated legal action against Engineer Pradeep Bhattarai and service recipient Sumitra Sapkota. The corruption case, filed in the Special Court on Sunday, alleges that Bhattarai accepted a bribe of 34,000 rupees from Sapkota. The bribe is said to be related to the processing of national identity cards at the Department of National ID and Civil Registration.

CIAA spokesperson Narahari Ghimire confirmed the registration of the case, and both accused individuals are expected to undergo legal proceedings in the Special Court as the case unfolds.
