CIB’s Operation Foxtrot Charlie: Seven Fake Educational Certificate Holders Apprehended Nationwide

In a crackdown on fraudulent educational certificates, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) has apprehended seven individuals across the country who forged certificate-level (Class 10+2) educational documents in pursuit of higher education opportunities in medical science.
Under the ambitious “Operation Foxtrot Charlie,” the CIB intensified efforts to combat the proliferation of counterfeit educational certificates. These fake documents were primarily created to alter the marks achieved in various subjects, specifically targeting those seeking admission into MBBS programs both domestically and abroad.
Sanjay Singh Thapa, the spokesperson of the CIB, revealed that the suspects were taken into custody after meticulous verification conducted in collaboration with the National Examination Board’s Examination Control Office in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. The verification process was instrumental in confirming the inauthentic nature of their academic qualifications. Thapa clarified that the arrests occurred at different times as the investigations unfolded.
Among the arrested individuals are Manit Chaudhary, Employed at Anu Pharmacy, Biratnagar, Amit Chaudhary, Studying at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Erina Shah, Preparing for MBBS studies, Shrada Shilpkar, Employed at Isaan Children and Women’s Hospital, Bashundhara,Punam Thapa, Bagmati Central Hospital, Durga Bhagavathi Village, Rautahat, Rambabu Yadav, Chitwan Medical College, Naseem Akhtar, MBBS STUDENT AT Chitwan Medical College.
Currently, six individuals are under investigation and in custody of the CIB, with the case involving charges of forgery being handled under the directive of the Kathmandu District Court. Naseem Akhtar was apprehended on July 32 (an apparent typographical error), and the investigation into his role in the scheme is ongoing with a deadline of 5 days.
The CIB’s resolute action against those involved in creating and using fake educational certificates not only underscores the government’s commitment to preserving the integrity of the education system but also serves as a stern warning to individuals attempting to deceive educational institutions and authorities. This operation signifies a concerted effort to maintain the credibility and sanctity of educational qualifications, particularly in the field of medical science.
