CPC politburo Member Yuan Jiajun to Visit Nepal Following Formation of Prachanda Government

In a significant development, it has been confirmed that Yuan Jiajun, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, will be visiting Nepal. This marks the first visit of a high-ranking Chinese leader to Nepal since the formation of the government under the leadership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Chairman of the Maoist Center of Nepal Communist Party.
Yuan Jiajun, who is also the secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Chongqing Municipal Committee, will lead a delegation from Chongqing city. The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on July 23. During the visit, Yuan will hold high-level meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other party leaders, according to a CPN-UML leader familiar with the upcoming visit.
Moreover, the Chinese delegation is expected to extend an invitation to Nepal to participate in the ‘Belt and Road Chongqing International Consumer Goods Expo.’ This event is organized by the Supply and Market Support Industry Branch of the China Council for International Trade Promotion and China Cooperation Times. The expo is set to take place at the Chongqing International Expo Center from September onwards.
Yuan Jiajun’s visit highlights the growing bilateral relations between Nepal and China and underlines the significance of fostering stronger ties between the two nations. The visit also signifies China’s keen interest in deepening cooperation and promoting economic exchanges with Nepal.
