Former Australian Cricketer Stuart MacGill Found Guilty in Cocaine Supply Case

Former Australian Test cricketer Stuart MacGill has been found guilty of knowingly taking part in the supply of cocaine, according to local media reports.

The retired leg-spinner was accused of introducing his personal cocaine dealer to an associate in 2021, facilitating a drug deal worth USD 200,000 between them. While MacGill was not directly involved in the transaction, the court determined that he had played a role in the supply of a prohibited drug, as reported by ABC News.

However, the 54-year-old was acquitted of a more serious charge related to commercial-scale drug supply.

MacGill, who played 44 Test matches for Australia between 1998 and 2008, had a career that overlapped with Shane Warne, one of the greatest spin bowlers in cricket history.
