Former Home Minister Khand and aide KC arrested from residence
Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has been arrested in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees.
Khand was arrested from his residence by a special team of the Metropolitan Police investigating the incident on Wednesday morning. An official involved in the investigation has confirmed this with pradafas.com.
The investigation team has arrested Khand and his accomplice Narendra KC. KC was active as an assistant to the Home Minister.
The audio of the accused who were caught in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees had been released to the khand’s wife Manju. However, the audio is being checked. Not confirmed.
The team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested two more people only on Tuesday.
Those arrested are Ramsharan KC from Kathmandu Tokha and Gobind Chaudhary from Morang. According to a police officer involved in the investigation, it was revealed that they were also involved in this case during the investigation based on the statements given by those arrested earlier.
With this, the number of people arrested in this case has reached 12.
The police have already arrested former home secretary Teknarayan Pandey, former home minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal”s security adviser Indrajit Rai, Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Sagar Rai, Sandesh Sharma, Tankkumar Gurung and CPN 9UML0 Secretary and MP Top Bahadur Rayamazhi’s son Sandeep.
Top Bahadur Rayamajhi is absconding.
On Tuesday, a team from District Police Complex Kathmandu searched his house in Satdobato.
On the basis of the statements of the accused in custody, the high-ranking officials are being dragged one after the other.
