Former Secretary Pandey’s Memoir ‘Samjhanaka Phoolharu’ Launched in Kathmandu

Samjhanaka Phoolharu, a memoir penned by former government Secretary Shankar Prasad Pandey, was officially released today in Kathmandu.
The book was unveiled by former Chief Justice Sushila Karki during a special program held in the capital. In his memoir, Pandey reflects on his extensive career in public service, sharing insights and experiences from his time working in various sectors, including physical infrastructure, environmental conservation, diplomacy, education, and administration.
One of the highlights of the book is his recollection of the installation of a statue of Nepal’s literary icon, Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota, in Lhasa, China—an event symbolizing cultural diplomacy.
Speaking at the event, former Chief Justice Karki praised the memoir, saying Pandey has done justice to readers by offering a thoughtful account of state affairs and public administration. Poet Prahlad Pokhrel described the book as a valuable read for both older and younger generations, while Ward 17 Chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Rojina Shrestha, called it an informative work that sheds light on the inner workings of Nepal’s public service.
