
Four Arrested with Undisclosed Cash of Rs 6.8 Million in Kathmandu


Police have arrested four individuals after confiscating Rs 6.8 million in cash from an unidentified source during a routine vehicle inspection in Kathmandu on Tuesday night.
The arrested individuals include Raj Kumar Mali (46) of Dovanpul, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32; an 18-year-old youth from New Baneshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10; Pravesh Kumar Paudel (32) of Arjundhara Municipality-7, Jhapa, residing at Shantigoreto, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7; and Yubaraj Subedi (27) of Birtamod Municipality-5, Jhapa.
A team from the Gaushala Police Circle intercepted their vehicle (Province 3-01-022 Cha 1972) at Shambhu Marg, Sinamangal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9. During the inspection, police discovered the large sum of cash, the source of which could not be immediately verified.
The four individuals, along with the seized money, are now in custody as investigations continue into the origin and purpose of the cash. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the case.
