Fourth Session of Madhes Province Assembly Begins
The fourth session of the Madhes Province Assembly (PA) officially commenced today, with Speaker Ramchandra Mandal presiding over the inaugural meeting. During the session, the Speaker read out a letter from the Province Chief regarding the summoning of the assembly.
In line with Rule 11 of the PA Business Operations Regulations, 2075 BS, members were nominated to chair meetings in the absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. The nominated members are Hari Narayan Mahato, Chandan Singh, Jawahar Kushawaha, and Ramesh Prasad Kurmi.
The third session of the Madhes PA was prorogued on September 20, following 34 meetings. Previous sessions of the assembly included 36 meetings in the first session and 14 in the second session, as noted by Speaker Mandal.
Currently, the assembly is reviewing several key bills, including those related to agriculture, agricultural seeds, tourism, and amendments to the act concerning children.
Natural Resources and Environment Committee President Sharada Das Pahadi is expected to present the committee’s report on a bill aimed at developing and promoting the tourism industry in the Madhes region during the session.
The assembly’s fourth session is anticipated to address these critical legislative matters while focusing on the region’s development priorities.
