Gagan Thapa Vows Crackdown on Corruption

At the Kathmandu District Conference of the Nepali Congress (NC) today, General Secretary Gagan Thapa delivered a resolute message against corruption within the party.

Thapa emphasized that individuals implicated in corruption and fraud would not be tolerated as members of the NC. He stressed the crucial role of the NC in upholding good governance, both in words and deeds.

Highlighting recent assaults on the constitution, Thapa asserted, “There is an ongoing attack on the constitution; we must persistently fight against such obstacles.”

He assured that the party would not shield corrupt individuals, declaring, “The guilty will not escape; they won’t become part of Congress. No corrupt individual will receive VIP status anymore.”

Thapa also praised the late Sushil Koirala’s dedication during the constitution-making process, urging the new generation of leaders to learn from his values and ethics.
