Germany Celebrates 65 Years of Diplomatic Ties with Nepal in Kathmandu

The Embassy of Germany in Kathmandu commemorated 65 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Germany in a grand celebration held at the Hotel Hyatt in Kathmandu on Thursday. The event witnessed the presence of more than 400 esteemed guests.

National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina graced the occasion as the chief guest, adding significance to the event.

The gathering included a diverse array of attendees, such as government officials from various ministries, leaders of political parties, heads of diplomatic missions in Kathmandu, members of civil society, human rights advocates, businesspersons, media representatives, and individuals from all walks of life.

German Ambassador to Nepal, Thomas Prinz, extended a warm welcome to the attendees during his speech, emphasizing the strong and enduring friendship between Nepal and Germany. He stated, “We are celebrating 65 years of bilateral relations between Nepal and Germany. 65 years of friendship and solidarity. We have been standing with Nepal in difficult times, be it the civil war, the 2015 earthquake, or the Covid-19 pandemic. We welcome the tremendous progress Nepal has made and continue our support.”

Additionally, the Ambassador conveyed his condolences to the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, demonstrating the solidarity of the Federal Republic of Germany with the international community.

The celebration of 65 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Germany reflects the enduring partnership and commitment between the two nations, exemplified by their continued support in times of need.
