Government Committed to Development and Good Governance: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reaffirmed that the current coalition government, led by two major political parties, is advancing with a strong commitment to development and good governance. Speaking at a public awareness gathering organized by the CPN-UML in Damak, Jhapa, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that political stability has taken root in the country and that the rule of law is being further strengthened.

Oli, who also chairs the CPN-UML, cautioned against disruptive forces trying to destabilize politics, asserting that politics is a serious responsibility, not a performance for attention. Referring indirectly to Durga Prasai’s recent controversial actions, he warned the public against being influenced by individuals accused of financial fraud and banking irregularities. “The March 28 incident at Tinkune in Kathmandu revealed the true face of such elements,” he said, reiterating that the restoration of monarchy is not possible in a republic established by the will of the people.

Reflecting on past internal party challenges, Oli noted that despite resistance from certain factions within the UML, the party has emerged stronger. He pledged that the current government would accelerate development works and large-scale infrastructure projects. Plans are underway to introduce innovative policies aimed at modernizing agriculture and promoting entrepreneurship.

The Prime Minister also highlighted recent legislative progress, stating that the government has passed five significant ordinances, with one focused on land reform to be introduced shortly. He welcomed the positive response from the private sector to these reforms.

Reiterating the party’s long-term vision, Oli said, “The UML is committed to building a ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.’ A Nepal without UML is unimaginable.” He also urged party members to actively participate in outreach campaigns and raise political awareness across the provinces.

On a concluding note, PM Oli encouraged youth to join the upcoming Youth Festival in Kathmandu on Baisakh 11, to mark Loktantra Day, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement in shaping Nepal’s democratic future.
