Government Welcomes the Ceasefire Agreement in Gaza

The Government of Nepal has enthusiastically welcomed the recently brokered ceasefire agreement in Gaza. This breakthrough is expected to facilitate the safe release of hostages and ensure the crucial supply of humanitarian aid to the region.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Nepal’s appreciation for the concerted diplomatic efforts of various nations and parties involved, with special acknowledgment given to the State of Qatar, the United States of America, and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The government commended their roles in fostering dialogue and reaching a humanitarian understanding.

The statement further emphasized Nepal’s steadfast commitment to the cause, urging all parties to uphold the terms of the agreement to ensure a lasting and sustainable peace in the region. Notably, the government reiterated its call for the immediate release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national currently held in the conflict zone.
