Govt. Claims Ownership: 10 Ropanis of Prime Bansbari Land Registered in State’s Name!

The government has successfully reclaimed 10 ropanis of land in Bansbari, which was unlawfully registered under the name of Chaudhary Group through Champion Footwear. This decisive action marks a crucial step towards rectifying land ownership discrepancies and upholding the rule of law.

During a press briefing held on Friday, the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation made the official announcement of the transfer of ownership. Chhabi Nepali, the chief of the Land Revenue Office, Dillibazaar, emphasized that the land has been rightfully reinstated under the government’s ownership in accordance with Section 24 of the Land Revenue Act, 1978.

The land plot in question, originally designated for Bansbari Leather Shoes, was later registered under Chandbag Residency Pvt Ltd, and subsequently, under Champion Footwear without proper authorization from the government.

Nepali clarified, “The land plot, now under government ownership, cannot be allocated to any individual or entity without explicit authorization from the government.”

This move comes amidst ongoing investigations by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police into the alleged involvement of Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of Chaudhary Group, Binod Chaudhary, and his brother Arun in the Bansbari land grab case. The investigation seeks to uncover any irregularities or unlawful activities related to the transfer of land ownership.

The government’s swift action underscores its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and the protection of public assets. It sends a clear message that no individual or entity is above the law, and any attempts to unlawfully appropriate land will be met with decisive legal measures. As the investigation progresses, further developments are eagerly awaited to uphold the integrity of land ownership rights in Nepal.
