Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak Visits Flood and Landslide-Affected Areas in Kavrepalanchowk

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today visited several areas severely impacted by recent flooding and landslides in Kavrepalanchowk district, including Roshi Bazaar in Kalanti Bhumidanda of Panauti Municipality-12, and Partikharka, Salandubagar, and Chalal Ganeshthan in Bethanchowk Rural Municipality-4.

During the visit, the Minister interacted with local residents who survived the devastating floods caused by the Roshi River. Panauti Municipality Mayor Ram Sharan Bhandari briefed Minister Lekhak on the extent of the disaster, its toll on the lives of the people, and the local government’s ongoing efforts to address urgent needs such as food and healthcare.

In Bethanchowk, Rural Municipality Chair Bhagawan Adhikari provided updates on the hardships locals are facing in the aftermath of the floods and landslides. He highlighted the immediate priorities, including search and rescue operations, food distribution, healthcare services, and the restoration of transportation facilities.

Later today, Minister Lekhak will attend a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee and visit other disaster-affected areas, including Chaukidanda in Namobuddha Municipality and the Katunje section of Roshi Rural Municipality along the BP Highway, to assess the damage and coordinate further relief efforts.
