ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2: Nepal defeats Scotland by 3 wickets
Nepal defeated Scotland by three wickets in the ongoing Triangular series of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 being held at TU Cricket ground in Kirtipur on Friday.
Winning the toss, Nepal put Scotland to bat. The visitors, got off to a horrible start losing half its team in less than 25 overs. But a steady inning from Michael Leask, who scored an unbeaten 107 from 85 balls, took them to a competitive total of 274 in their allotted 50 overs.
Sandeep Lamichhane impressing with three wickets giving away only 27 runs. Kushal Malla got two wickets while Sompal Kami, Kushan Bhurtel and Dipendra Singh Airee picked up one wicket each.
Nepal met the target set by Scotland in 47 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Dipendra Singh Airee (85 runs) and Kushal Malla (81 runs) became the highest scorer for Nepal on Friday.
Scottish bowlers Chris Sole and Mark Watt grabbed three wickets each.
