Indian Embassy Hosts Nepal-India Literary Festival: Book Release and Discussions

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu organized a ‘Book Release and Discussion’ event as part of the ‘Nepal-India Literary Festival’ at the Nepal-India Library.

The Chief Guest of the event, former Supreme Court Judge Girish Chandra Lal, unveiled the Hindi book ‘Nepal Mein Hindi,’ which was published with the support of the BP Koirala Foundation.

During the event, a discussion took place concerning the poetry collection ‘Ujale Ke Rang,’ which had been translated from Nepali to Hindi by Nepalese senior poets Sneha Sayami and Rajendra Shalabh. Additionally, the Nepali poetry collection ‘Chasma Ra Aankhako Baarta’ by Sneha Sayami was also discussed.

The panel included Tribhuvan University’s Hindi professor, Shweta Dipti, esteemed poet Bidhan Acharya, and accomplished writer Dr. Ramdayal Rakesh, all of whom shared their insights.

In his address, Chief Guest Girish Chandra Lal underscored the significance of the shared culture and language between Nepal and India, which have contributed to the enduring relationship between the two countries over the centuries.

The event was attended by a significant number of writers, educators, linguists, and literature enthusiasts.
