India’s EAM Jaishankar Meets Prime Minister Prachanda

Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singhadurbar. The meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between India and Nepal.

Prior to the meeting with Prime Minister Dahal, Jaishankar held discussions with President Ram Chandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas, emphasizing the importance of fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

Following the talks with the Prime Minister, Jaishankar is scheduled to lead the India-Nepal Joint Commission meeting at Hotel Yak and Yeti. The meeting, involving Foreign Minister NP Saud on behalf of Nepal, is expected to address key issues of regional importance.

Jaishankar’s busy schedule also includes meetings with prominent Nepali political figures. He is set to meet Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at 3:40 pm and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli at 4:30 pm, reinforcing diplomatic channels with Nepal’s political leadership.

In a gesture of cultural affinity, Jaishankar is slated to visit the revered Pashupatinath temple for worship at 8 am on Friday, showcasing the longstanding cultural and religious ties between the two nations.

The External Affairs Minister’s two-day visit underscores India’s commitment to nurturing its relationship with Nepal. Jaishankar is expected to depart for India at 12 noon on Friday, concluding a diplomatic mission aimed at enhancing cooperation and understanding between the neighboring nations.
