Member of Looters’ Gang Injured in Police Fire, Two Others Apprehended

In an incident in Bouddha, Kathmandu today, a member of a looters’ gang was injured by police gunfire, and two other gang members have been apprehended by the authorities.

According to the spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, Santosh Ghalan from Sindhuli was injured as a result of live ammunition fired by the police in self-defense.

“Mr. Ghalan sustained injuries when the police team opened fire in retaliation after the looters’ gang attacked our police team,” SP Regmi stated. The injured individual, Santosh Ghalan, is currently receiving medical treatment at ANMS Hospital in Jorpati.

Furthermore, the police have detained Shanta Lama and Jiten Lama in connection with the incident. Additionally, law enforcement officials have seized seven bullets, one pistol, and two motorbikes from the apprehended individuals.

The incident reflects the ongoing efforts by the police to combat criminal activities, including those carried out by looters’ gangs in the region. Police remain vigilant and continue to take action against those involved in such unlawful activities.
