Miss Universe Nepal 2023 is Jane Dipika Garrett

Jane Dipika Garrett emerged as the winner of Miss Universe Nepal 2023, triumphing over more than 20 other talented competitors. The prestigious event took place on Saturday, September 9, at the breathtaking Godavari Sunrise Convention Center.

At just 22 years of age, Jane, a nurse and business developer hailing from Kathmandu, etched her name in history by becoming the first-ever plus-size beauty to seize the national title. Her mission goes beyond the crown, as she passionately advocates for critical issues like mental health, body positivity, and hormonal well-being for women in Nepal.

In her own words, Jane expressed, “As a woman who is curvy and who does not meet certain beauty standards, I’m here to represent women who are curvy, who struggle with weight gain, who struggle with hormonal issues — I believe that there is not only one type of beauty standard but every single woman is beautiful just as she is.”

Among the other remarkable contestants, Garima Ghimire was named the first runner-up, while Buddhisara Sunar, Shitashma Pokharel, and Abhilasha Lamsal were recognized as the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

The Top 10 semifinalists, who shone brightly throughout the competition, included Alista Subedi, Sanskriti Chhetri Karki, Sarosy Neupane, Puja Paudel, and Chanel Shrestha.

As the grand finale concluded, last year’s Miss Universe Nepal, Sophiya Bhujel, graciously handed over her crown to the remarkable Jane Dipika Garrett. Jane is now poised to represent Nepal at the prestigious Miss Universe 2023 competition, set to take place in El Salvador this November. Her journey promises to inspire and empower women worldwide as she takes her advocacy and grace to the global stage.
