Moist Air from Bay of Bengal Influencing Nepal’s Weather

Nepal is currently experiencing weather changes due to the combined effects of westerly and local wind systems, along with the influence of moisture-laden air flowing in from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
As a result, most parts of the country are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the day. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of the high hills and mountainous regions, with isolated showers possible in other parts of the country.
The Division also forecasts similar conditions for tonight, with light rain and thunderstorms expected in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Light snowfall is also likely in certain high hilly and mountainous areas.
