NC to Hold Serious Discussion with PM Dahal

The Nepali Congress, a crucial partner within the ruling coalition, is preparing for a significant dialogue with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda to address pressing legislative matters and the welfare of the people.

This decision comes as Prime Minister Dahal is presently on an official visit to China.

One of the primary concerns highlighted by the Nepali Congress is the urgency of enacting legislation in accordance with the constitution’s provisions.

Gagan Thapa, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, asserted, “The government should take the initiative in formulating essential laws.”

Additionally, the party aims to encourage both the Prime Minister and the government to exercise fiscal responsibility during these economically challenging times.

Thapa further explained, “NC will urge the Prime Minister and the government to avoid unnecessary expenditure when the country is facing financial difficulties.”

In a comprehensive review of the government’s performance, the Nepali Congress expressed disappointment that certain critical decisions had not been effectively implemented.

“Despite our persistent efforts, the government has failed to put certain decisions into action,” lamented Thapa.

As a result, the Nepali Congress is committed to bringing issues related to good governance, efficient public service delivery, and other pertinent concerns to the forefront.

The party acknowledges the necessity for collaborative efforts within the coalition government led by Prime Minister Dahal to address these challenges.

Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, who also serves as the Defense Minister, has emphasized the need for a discussion on the government’s functioning upon Prime Minister Dahal’s return from China.

Khadka stressed that the Nepali Congress should lead in resolving the practical implications that arise during the implementation of the constitution.
