Nepal Police Club Advances to Final of Birgunj Gold Cup

Birgunj (Parsa), November 9: In the ongoing First Birgunj Gold Cup 2080 tournament in Birgunj, the Nepal Police Club (NPC) has secured its place in the final.

In the first semi-final match hosted at the Adarshanagar Stadium in Birgunj on Wednesday, NPC reached the final by triumphing over the host team, Veteran City Club Birgunj, in a tie-breaker with a score of 5-4. The decision was made through a tie-breaker after the regular match ended in a goalless draw.

Satrughna Chaudhary, the goalkeeper of NPC, was honored with the ‘Man of the Match’ title during the tournament.

With this win, NPC will now compete in the final match against the winner of the second semi-final match scheduled to take place between Sankata Club Kathmandu and Tribhuvan Army Club on Thursday.

The Birgunj Gold Cup tournament features prominent teams, including Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Sankata Club, Church Boys United Nawalparasi, Jhapa FC, Birgunj Veteran City Club, Kolkatta Clive House Dumdum, and Delhi’s AFCI North Zone football team.

The title winner of the gold cup will be awarded a cash prize of NPR 1,111,111, along with a trophy and certificate, while the first runner-up will receive NPR 555,555, along with a trophy and certificate. Birgunj Metropolitan City is the primary host of the gold cup.
