Newly-appointed Special Court Judges Sworn in by Chief Justice

In a solemn ceremony held at the Supreme Court today, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha presided over the swearing-in of the newly-appointed Chairperson and members of the Special Court. The distinguished judges took the oath of office and secrecy, marking the commencement of their roles in the crucial legal institution.

The Judicial Council had previously recommended the appointment of Teknarayan Kunwar as the Chairperson of the Special Court, a decision later approved by the Council of Ministers. Chief Justice Shrestha administered the oath to all five judges, underscoring the significance of their responsibilities in upholding justice and the rule of law.

The newly appointed members include Tejnarayan Singh Rayee, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Muraribabu Shrestha, and Ritendra Thapa, all of whom bring a wealth of experience as High Court Judges to their new positions. The decision to select members from the pool of high court judges aligns with the established tradition of ensuring a deep understanding of legal intricacies within the Special Court.
