PM Modi Sleeps on Floor and Sips Coconut Water For Ram Temple Event: Sources

In preparation for the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple scheduled for January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is observed strictly adhering to a set of rules and rituals, including the practice of “Yam rules,” according to reliable sources. The 11-day regimen involves rigorous penance, purification of mind and body through meditation, and adherence to a special “satvik” diet that prohibits the consumption of onion, garlic, and several other items.

Sources further reveal that the Prime Minister has embraced a simple lifestyle during this period, opting to sleep on the floor with only a blanket and consuming only coconut water. The elaborate rituals for the temple consecration commenced on January 12, leading up to the main event on January 22 when PM Modi is scheduled to perform the puja for the “Pran Pratistha.”

The “Pran Pratistha” ceremony, crucial for infusing the idol with divine consciousness, will be conducted by a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit at 12:30 pm on January 22. The Ram Lalla idol, a depiction of Lord Ram at the age of five sculpted in black stone by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, was transported to the temple and placed in the sanctorum sanctorum following a special puja ceremony. The formal installation is anticipated to occur today, as confirmed by Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra.

Over 11,000 guests from various parts of the country and abroad, specially invited by the temple trust, are expected to witness the consecration ceremony. In response, the Central government has declared a half-day closure for all its offices.

In the lead-up to the momentous event, Prime Minister Modi has called for cleanliness drives at temples nationwide, exemplifying this initiative by personally participating in the “Swachchata Abhiyan” last week, where he cleaned the premises of the Kalaram Temple in Maharashtra’s Nashik.
