RSP quits government after not getting Home Ministry

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to leave the government immediately.

A joint meeting of the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party held at the party office in Basundhara has decided to quit the Prachanda-led government.

The party took a tough decision after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ didn’t provided him and his party a home ministry saying that it will not send a good message to return Lamichhane to his old responsibility as soon as he is relieved of the post as he is involved in serious issues related to citizenship and passport.

The meeting, however, decided not to withdraw its support provided to the incumbent government.

There are now two ministers and one state minister of the party in the incumbent cabinet.
